The best running shoes ever!

Recently I was scheduled for a weekend trip to Orlando. As I was preparing for the trip I knew it was time to purchase a new pair of shoes as the ones I had were really showing signs of wear and tear.

I searched high and low, online, in stores, reading reviews but I could not make a decision on which shoes to pick.

Considering I would be walking and on my feet for 12 or more hours per day I knew that comfort would have to over ride style.

Personally I have been a Nike man since I was in the 6th grade but I was never willing to pay more for a good pair of shoes. I would just buy them if they were in my price range and not even worry about comfort.

As I've gotten older I have found that I am more worried about comfort because lets be honest here, the older you get, things start hurting a lot faster than they did when you where a teenager.

I stumbled upon the Asics Men's Gel Surveyor 5 Running Shoe and decided to give Asics a try. This particular pair of shoes were stylish and they felt comfortable when I put them on. I felt that they were worth a shot for my weekend trip.

The first thing I noticed when I tried the shoes on for the first time is that they had a bit of "give" when you stood up. It felt like I was walking barefooted on one of those pads cashiers and hair stylists stand on when they are working.

I thought that if this was any indication of how it would be for 12 hours or more than I very well may have made the right decision.

My trip to Disney World consisted of two days of walking 7 to 8 miles per day plus standing in line. Normally in this sort of situation my feet and legs would start hurting within 2 to 4 hours.

The first full day was spent at the Magic Kingdom and then on to Animal Kingdom for Magic hours.

Again as I just stated, by 2 to 4 hours I should have really been feeling the joys of wearing the wrong and/or inadequate shoes. This time was much different.

It wasn't until almost the end of the night I finally started to feel a bit tired and a slight discomfort in my feet.

Overall I would highly recommend these shoes for walking and running. I was very impressed with the performance of these shoes compared to other theme park visits where I'm having to deal with taking over the counter pain medicine to try to mask any discomfort I would feel because of the shoes I would wear.

If I had to do it all over again I would choose these Asics again. When the next time comes for a new pair of shoes, Asics will be my first choice!
